A daily shuttle will take you after breakfast from your chalet to the slopes at Borovets. Your representative will take you to where the lessons start or to the ski lifts, whichever you need. Our local guide (speaks English and Bulgarian) is there to help and assist you with all your skiing needs.


Beginners can enjoy a high standard of English speaking instruction and gentle nursery slopes, in the centre of the town. Lessons are in English, lasting 4 hours per day for 6 days a week (2 hours a day for cross country). Beginners start the week on the nursery slopes but by the end of the week everyone is heading for the gondola lift and the more challenging runs at the top of Yastrebets. The Borovets ski school has an excellent international reputation.

Intermediate skiers can enjoy most of the 18 ski runs on the mountains of Borovets. The well-planned lift system includes the 5 km, 6-person Yastrebets gondola lift, which opens up a wealth of enjoyable runs, ranging from wide sunny boulevards in the Moussala basin, to scenic looping trails through the trees. As the gondola takes you to the top of the peak you can try the longest downhill run in Bulgaria, as well as some great skiing on the slopes of the wind-free basin underneath Moussala peak, which are guaranteed to be white.

Advanced skiers and experts can enjoy the black runs of Markujik peak. Also the testing World Cup run, one of the more challenging pistes on the Yastrebets area or the excellent skiing through the trees and off-piste.

Cross-country tracks of total length of 18 km. There is a 10 km track next to the gondola.

Floodlit night skiing is available every day in the town centre slopes from 5 pm to 10 pm. For night skiing there is a special lift pass that has to be bought separately at the kiosks on the pistes. It is valid from 5 pm till 10 pm.

Piste maintenance

Modern machines maintain the excellent condition of the ski tracks. No matter if it is snowing or not the pistes are maintained every night, which guarantees 120 days of snowy pistes per year. So skiing is available from the beginning of December till mid April.
